Header and Footer Customization
The header and footer appear on every page of your storefront, so getting them right is crucial for navigation and branding.
Header Layout Options
Nuvi offers multiple header layout variants depending on your theme:
- Standard — Logo on the left, navigation in the center, cart/account on the right.
- Centered — Logo centered above the navigation bar.
- Minimal — Compact header with hamburger menu for navigation.
- Extended — Header with top bar for contact info or announcements.
Configuring the Navigation Menu
Your main navigation menu controls what links appear in the header:
- The navigation is configured through the theme's section settings.
- You can add menu items via the AI assistant: "Add a menu item called 'About Us' linking to /about".
- Menu items can link to pages, collections, categories, or external URLs.
- Dropdown menus are supported — nest items under a parent to create a dropdown.
Top Bar
Some themes support a top bar above the header. This is useful for:
- Displaying a promotional message (e.g., "Free shipping on orders over $50")
- Showing contact information (phone, email)
- Adding social media links
- Language or currency selector
Enable the top bar in Settings > Themes > Customize.
Footer Configuration
The footer typically contains:
- Column 1 — About your store (logo, brief description)
- Column 2 — Quick Links (FAQ, Shipping Policy, Returns)
- Column 3 — Contact Information
- Column 4 — Social Media Links
Footer content is managed through the theme customizer. Edit footer columns, links, and text to match your brand. Social media icons are automatically displayed when you add your social media URLs in the store settings.
Mobile Navigation
On mobile devices, the header automatically collapses into a hamburger menu. The mobile navigation includes all the same links as the desktop header, presented in a slide-out panel. No additional configuration is needed — it adapts automatically.
