Adding Your First Product

Products are the core of your online store. This guide walks you through creating your first product from scratch.

Step 1: Navigate to Products

In the admin panel, click Products in the left sidebar, then click the "New Product" button in the top-right corner.

Step 2: Basic Information

Fill in the following fields:

  1. Title — The product name as customers will see it (e.g., "Organic Cotton T-Shirt").
  2. Subtitle — Optional short description shown below the title.
  3. Handle — The URL slug, auto-generated from the title (e.g., "organic-cotton-t-shirt").
  4. Description — A detailed product description. Use formatting for readability.

Step 3: Media

Upload product images by dragging and dropping files or clicking the upload area. Tips for great product images:

  • Use at least 3-4 images showing different angles.
  • Recommended resolution: 1200x1200px or higher.
  • Use a clean, white background for consistency.
  • The first image will be the main thumbnail shown in listings.

Step 4: Pricing

In the pricing section:

  1. Set the Price for each region/currency you sell in.
  2. Optionally add a Compare at Price to show a strikethrough discount.
  3. Add Cost per Item for profit tracking (not shown to customers).

Step 5: Inventory

If you track stock:

  • Enter the SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) for internal reference.
  • Set the Quantity in stock.
  • Enable "Track Inventory" to automatically reduce stock on purchase.

Step 6: Publish

When everything looks good, change the status from Draft to Published. The product will immediately appear on your storefront.
